"My comfort, my happiness, my life - for you, my Goddess, I would give it all..."
This mermaid was once a normal Au Ra....until she met a truly horrible fate. Tempered and corrupted by Leviathan for many years, her body mutated into this aquatic form. Now they are free, and exalt the Navigator for this newfound freedom. Traveling the world disguised as a normal Raen, she is on a pilgrimage for her goddess, but she secretly harbors a longing for connection...

Name: Muirin
Age: Unknown
DOB: 1st Sun of the 3rd Astral Moon
Height: 5'2" [In Disguise]
Race: Merfolk [Mutated Raen Au Ra]
Gender: Agender (She/They)
Orientation: Demisexual
Relationship Status: Single
Occupation: Priestess of Llymlaen, Gleaner [Fishing Specialty]

AppearanceMuirin is a merfolk with blue skin, as well as Raen scales that have taken on an iridescent quality. She has pink hair that gradiates into a pale peach towards the ends, which she wears in two twintails. Likewise, her eyes are also peach with pink limbal rings. But oddly their pupils are shaped like the pupils of a cuttlefish, a feature that remains visible regardless of her disguise. In their true form, they wear decorative seashells and pearls. From the waist down, she has a teal fish's tail with bright shiny scales. When she is glamoured to walk among humans, she looks like a normal raen for the most part, though the iridescent shimmer of their scales, the fin-like horns and the aforementioned pupils are a bit of a giveaway that there is something otherworldly about this 'Raen'.In her disguise, Muirin most often wears a pearl white robe and light armor to emphasize her role as a priestess and protector, though occasionally she will be seen in other clothes that are typical of Au Ra....at least as far as she can tell.Regardless of the form she takes, her voice has such a clear tone that it seems almost uncanny or artificial.

- Detached, Isolated, Unexpressive, Antisocial, AwkwardMuirin doesn't remember anything about the Raen she once was. Not even their name. So they have embraced the name that they were given by Llymlaen and see each new day as an opportunity to express gratitude for the Navigator's Blessing. She is entirely puzzled by the petty squabbles of mankind, as disconnected from human culture as she is. She approaches such things with a passing curiosity, but will miss the mark socially 99% of the time. They are a bit single-minded at times, focusing on her mission from her goddess above all else. You might say that this is a bad habit left over from their many years as Leviathan's thrall, but if you were to ask her, she would say that she only lives because of her goddess, thus she lives that life accordingly. On the matter of gender and sexuality, they are entirely disconnected and disinterested. While they are not bothered by being seen as a woman, they see womanhood as merely a facet of the forgotten life they had before they were tempered, and they see any sexual interest or objectification of their body as nothing more than puzzling human behavior.Muirin can often be found...

La Noscean Guardian
There have been many recent reports in La Noscea of an Auri woman rescuing people at sea. The most circulated and well known of these reports is that of a young girl who fell off a bridge in Limsa Lominsa. Before the Yellowjackets could set one rescue boat out to sea, they were met by an Auri woman who returned the girl unharmed and refused all rewards and recognition, simply walking off into the night. Perhaps you were also rescued, or perhaps you know someone that was.Thrall of the Whorl
Muirin was Leviathan's thrall until recently, and under his control she has done countless terrible things. Perhaps you once encountered her during this time. Perhaps she is even responsible for the death of someone you know...Friend and Companion
Muirin is often accompanied by a number of sea creatures that she dotes upon, but her most fiercely loyal companion is a female Hybodus (flying shark) that serves as both a mount and a protector, which she has affectionately named Doris after rescuing her from poachers.Doris is very affectionate to her mermaid companion, and fiercely protective. If Muirin is in her company, it's recommended that you don't make any sudden movements or you might lose a limb! But if you're proven to be an ally and friend to Muirin, Doris will just as fiercely protect you too.
Seek Out the Chosen
As one who bears the blessings of Llymlaen, Muirin now seeks out others who hold such blessings or fragments of the Twelve within them, to relay an important message that the Navigator has bestowed upon her. This search has led them to Lily Nibelung and Daerin Roda, but her search continues....Water's Flow
Even when they are in disguise, anyone with any kind of aetheric detection would be able to tell that Muirin's aether is extremely water-aspected. There is no logical reason for her to be anything but a puddle of water, and yet something seems to be holding her aether together in this distinctly solid (albeit aquatic) form. Even so, it's hard to miss the odd quirks of their aether - the puddles of water that form at their feet, and the odd way it always rains for a short time after they depart from an area...

Crystal - Brynhildr - Mist - Ward 16 Plot 49On the outskirts of Limsa Lominsa, there is an old chapel to Llymlaen. During the Calamity, its foundation crumbled and the ocean flooded into its basement, making it all but unusable. However... it seems someone is tending to it now - a raen priestess who is rarely seen.Even so, the doors are open.
Within the Chapel, all pilgrims are welcome to leave offerings within the Navigator's sacred fountain and pray for her blessings - that calm winds ever fill their sails, and that tempests remain at bay.A bounteous amount of food is available for any of the Navigator's children who are hungry. Please, take what you need - but only what you need, for there is no end to the hunger that plagues our fair city.

But be ever mindful that you do not stumble into the chapel's flooded basement. The foundations below are shattered and shifted, and the ocean itself spills inside - including a number of its creatures. Fish, jellyfish, sharks... all manner of sea life has made its home here. Yet the greater risk is that of the currents, for they could very well drag you out into the sea, never to be found again...
I will roleplay with veteran and novice RPers alike, assuming I'm not AFK or busy with something else! However, I have a few notes to consider:
I am not my characters, and they are not self-inserts for me. While I am happy to make friends with people OOC and IC alike, it's very important to me that fellow RPers recognize that I have a hard line between my characters and my IRL life, especially when it comes to relationships.
I am open to all kinds of storytelling, including mature or dark themes. However, please clear anything especially dramatic with me OOC beforehand.
I stay relatively lore compliant but I do believe in the "Rule of Cool" and bending the lore (not breaking it) to make a more exciting, engaging story. I like to take vague obscure lore bits and expound on them to make something unique
Because my characters and stories tend to lean toward the mature side, please only engage me in RP if you're over the age of 18 IRL.
Do not interact if you're only interested in ERP. I'm not against ERP, but it is not a focus for me. I do not enjoy it unless it is the culmination of a story beat, with players that I trust.
I really enjoy exploring peoples' character histories and building their stories! If any of my characters' hooks sound like something you could build off of, I'd love to have an OOC conversation about that! Perhaps we could even plan a story arc together. ♥
